Job Description As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Shift in Chicago, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service. You will interact with visitors and tenants, assist with access control, and respond to situations as they arise. Requirements
- At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
- Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or incidents to the appropriate personnel in accordance with Allied Universal and site protocols.
- Support access control measures by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and assisting with visitor management as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports regarding daily activities, incidents, and irregularities encountered during patrols.
- Assist with emergency response activities, including evacuation procedures and coordination with local authorities when required.
