About The Position
As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrols in Christiansburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible to guests and staff. You will play a key role in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, providing outstanding customer service, and communicating clearly with visitors and team members. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting and reporting as required.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
- Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
- Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, and verifying credentials as needed.
- Collaborate with site staff and Allied Universal team members to support a secure and welcoming environment for guests and employees.
- Assist in implementing emergency response protocols and provide guidance to visitors and staff during incidents.
