About The Position

As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence within a retail environment. You will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere by providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post, offering you the opportunity to actively engage with the location and be part of a dedicated team that values agility, reliability, and people-first service.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the retail location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the needs of the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or potential issues.
Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance needs encountered during patrols.
Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other unwanted behavior within the retail premises.
Communicate professionally with customers, staff, and/or visitors to address inquiries or concerns as needed.
Document incidents and/or observations according to Allied Universal protocols and site-specific requirements.
