Security Officer - Retail Day Shift Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Retail Day Shift Patrol in Sunnyvale, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail and mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will assist guests and staff with clear communication, observe for unusual activity, and document key details to support the team. Requirements
- Have a minimum of 1+ years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail and common areas, including perimeter checks, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify irregular conditions.
- Monitor entrances, sales floor activity, and loading or receiving areas; observe and report suspicious behavior and policy violations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including verbal de-escalation, requesting additional resources, and coordinating with local law enforcement when appropriate.
- Complete detailed incident reports and shift logs, communicate key updates during post briefings, and maintain a professional presence while interacting with employees, tenants, and/or visitors.
