As a Security Officer - Access Control Retail in Lacey, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail distribution location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols. Your presence and attention to detail will contribute to a secure environment for staff and visitors. You will also provide outstanding customer service, leveraging technology and teamwork to support a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizing entry to authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and/or suspicious activities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a visible Allied Universal presence at the location.
  • Assist with crowd control and/or traffic direction as necessary within the retail distribution environment.
