Job Description As a Security Officer - Retail Access Control in Eden, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining highly visible throughout the area. You will interact with visitors and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication, all while upholding our values of reliability, teamwork, and integrity. Requirements

  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry into the location.
  • Verify credentials and/or identification of individuals entering or exiting the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter security-related incidents.
  • Report and document any suspicious activity, security-related breaches, or hazards identified during patrols and access control duties.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as appropriate and according to site-specific procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and/or employees to provide information and assistance as needed.
