As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, completing routine rounds and maintaining a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff and residents with clear communication, timely reporting, and a calm, customer service-focused approach. Requirements

• Be 21+ years of age.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including using de-escalation techniques and requesting assistance from site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter routes, to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor flow by observing arrivals and departures, verifying authorization as directed, and documenting unusual activity and/or concerns.
• Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate updates during shift transitions, and support site operations by following post orders and reporting maintenance hazards and/or operational issues.
