Security Officer - Residential Patrol

As a Security Officer - Residential Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with courteous customer service. You will monitor access points, assist with badge and access control processes, and use a computer and/or tablet to document activity and communicate concerns. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves

- Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting on-site personnel and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor management by observing entry and exit activity, verifying authorization as required, and reporting suspicious behavior to management.
- Complete detailed reports of daily activity, irregularities, and incident response, and communicate observations during shift handoff to support continuity of security-related operations.
