About The Position

As a Security Officer - Residential Patrol Driver in Syracuse, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and hazards, and report findings per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, medical emergency assistance as directed, and coordination with clinical staff and/or local responders.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, help direct individuals to appropriate departments, and assist with security-related access control measures such as checking credentials and reporting unauthorized entry attempts.
  • Complete patrol logs and incident reports, communicate clearly with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and use radios, phones, and/or other systems to support timely notifications and follow-up.
