About The Position

As a Security Officer - Residential Entry Control in Rockaway, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Allied Universal team member assigned to a residential location, you will focus on access control duties, monitoring entrances and exits to help to deter security-related incidents. Your presence and attention to detail will contribute to a welcoming environment for residents and guests. You will conduct routine patrols, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly, all while upholding Allied Universal’s values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents and guests by following access control procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to security-related incidents and emergencies as appropriate.
  • Monitor entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity within the residential location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues when necessary in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to observe for any security-related concerns or policy violations, adapting to the unique environment of a residential location.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any security-related events as required by Allied Universal and client site protocols.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, guests, and staff while upholding Allied Universal standards of customer service and integrity.
