As a Security Officer - Residential Access Desk in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer assigned to a residential location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring access control points and conducting routine patrols. Your presence will help foster a secure environment for residents, while you deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication. You will play a key role in upholding our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity, making a positive impact every day.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents, visitors, and guests by following access control procedures at the residential location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals seeking access to the premises.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting with directions as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site-specific policies.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual activities, or policy violations to appropriate Allied Universal personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to observe and report any irregularities.
  • Support emergency response activities by following site protocols and Allied Universal procedures.
