About The Position

As a Security Officer - Refinery Gate Driver in Carrollton, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will provide clear communication and customer service while supporting daily operations with integrity and teamwork in a caring, people-first culture. This is a driving post, so a valid driver’s license in the job state is required.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • An EMT certification is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A F85 or F89 Certificate of Fitness is required for New York only.
  • Previous firefighting experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control processes, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site contacts and public responders when required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, process areas, and perimeter routes to help to identify unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, spills and/or releases, and other policy violations, and document observations per post orders.
  • Monitor cameras, intrusion detection, fire panels, and/or other site monitoring systems, and complete timely reports, logs, and incident documentation using required formats and systems.
  • Support site entry requirements by verifying identification, visitor authorizations, delivery documentation, and required protective equipment compliance as directed by site policy.
