As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and deliver strong customer service and communication to tenants, visitors, and staff. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supported by a caring, integrity-driven team culture.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a commercial real estate location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout lobbies, corridors, common areas, parking areas, loading docks, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access at designated entry points by monitoring doors and gates, verifying authorization, and directing visitors to the appropriate check-in or destination.
  • Monitor alarm panels, surveillance systems, and other building systems as assigned, reporting irregularities per site-specific procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, elevator issues, and unauthorized persons, and request assistance from emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete security-related reports, incident documentation, and shift activity logs with accurate details and timely submission per Allied Universal and site requirements.
  • Perform foot and/or vehicle patrols as assigned, adjusting patrol patterns based on tenant activity, building operations, weather, and observed conditions.
  • Communicate with property management, engineering staff, and other on-site personnel regarding access issues, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and other security-related observations.
  • Assist with key control and access credential procedures as assigned, including tracking issuance and reporting lost or damaged items.
  • Support special assignments such as after-hours tenant move-ins and move-outs, contractor escorts, and event coverage as directed by site-specific policies.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow post orders, and use de-escalation techniques when interacting with individuals who are upset or non-compliant.
  • Participate in required training and drills, and follow Allied Universal guidance for emergency response activities and customer service expectations.
