About The Position

As a Security Officer - Rail Yard Patrol Driver in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech data center location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements. You will deliver strong customer service and clear communication while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and committed to integrity.

Requirements

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology data center location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating observations to site leadership and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and security-related systems as assigned, verifying credentials, following entry and exit protocols, and reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations.
  • Complete detailed reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and participate in post orders briefings to support consistent site operations across shifts.
