As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a highly visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support staff, patients, and visitors through courteous service while documenting observations and reporting issues. This role requires an armed guard card and/or license and offers a team-focused environment grounded in integrity, reliability, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help to identify unusual conditions and/or suspicious activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, access control concerns, and requests for assistance from clinical and/or administrative teams.
  • Monitor and document security-related activity using reports, radios, and electronic systems, and coordinate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws, and follow post orders regarding use of force, weapon retention, and secure storage.
