As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will assist guests and tenants with customer-focused communication, document observations using a computer or tablet, and report concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, exterior perimeters, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic retail areas for suspicious behavior, potential shoplifting indicators, and/or loitering; communicate observations to site leadership and/or responding personnel as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing direction to guests, coordinating with property management, and/or requesting public emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, and communicate important information during shift transitions to support consistent security-related operations.
