As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control as needed, and document observations with clear communication. You will assist staff and guests with professionalism and respect, respond to concerns, and escalate issues appropriately. Requirements

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the shelter location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of living areas, common spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, hallways, and other key areas, verifying access and directing visitors according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, de-escalating conflicts when appropriate and requesting additional support as needed.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate status updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
