As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government human services location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence, and support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to security-related concerns, document activities, and help to deter incidents through attentive observation and professional reporting. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, clients, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, public service areas, parking lots, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
- Monitor access points, verify identification and/or visitor authorization as required, and assist with directing visitors to appropriate service areas.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts when appropriate and requesting law enforcement or medical assistance when needed.
- Document security-related activity, incidents, and patrol findings in written reports and logs, and communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
