About The Position

As a Security Officer - Property Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in an educational location, you will monitor and patrol campus spaces, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge checks, respond to concerns with clear communication, and deliver customer-focused service. Requirements

  • Have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and exterior grounds to help to deter policy violations and/or unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and requesting additional support when needed.
  • Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, maintenance hazards, and/or policy concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs for patrols, incidents, and unusual activity, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
