Job Description As a Security Officer - Port Patrol in Richmond, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government maritime transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, support access control, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering service with integrity. Requirements

  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to onsite personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifying appropriate contacts, and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, docks, parking areas, and perimeter zones; working environments and conditions may vary by site and weather.
  • Support access control by checking identification and authorization, monitoring entry and exit points, directing visitors, and assisting with vehicle and/or pedestrian screening as required by post orders.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and radio communications; complete activity logs and incident reports per policy.
