As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and perimeter areas to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence, assist visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with staff and guests. Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, public areas, offices, loading areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with directions and queue management, and help maintain orderly conduct while supporting a positive guest experience.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notification of appropriate contacts, and support for emergency personnel as needed.
  • Complete shift activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, and follow post orders and chain-of-command procedures.
