Job Description As a Security Officer - Perimeter Vehicle Driver in Allentown, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams and visitors while delivering customer service with integrity. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have loss prevention experience preferred.
  • Have CPR and/or First Aid preferred, and it may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access by verifying identification, checking authorizations, issuing temporary credentials when directed, and directing visitors to the proper check-in process.
  • Monitor fixed posts and surveillance systems, report unusual activity, and document observations according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications to site contacts and public responders as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, tank farms, warehouses, offices, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or unsafe conditions, and report findings.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports with clear, accurate details in a timely manner.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities by assisting with alarms, muster and/or evacuation routing, access control during drills, and maintaining clear responder access routes.
  • Perform vehicle screening as assigned, including verifying shipping and receiving paperwork, checking driver credentials, and directing traffic flow at gates and loading areas.
  • Enforce site rules related to restricted areas, prohibited items, and required personal protective equipment compliance, and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
  • Maintain professional communication with site leadership, coworkers, and Allied Universal supervision, and follow all post orders and reporting requirements.
