Job Description As a Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in an education setting, you will monitor and patrol campus buildings and outdoor areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge checks, respond to alarms and service calls, and write clear reports. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate campus partners and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor entrances and key areas for suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns, and help to deter unwanted activity through high-visibility presence and professional communication.
  • Complete detailed reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and participate in briefings and other communications to support continuity of security-related operations.
