About The Position

As a Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol Rover in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location supporting community services, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control with courteous communication. You will document observations, respond to calls for assistance, and collaborate with site staff and your team. Requirements

  • Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, contacting site leadership, and notifying public emergency services when required.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, common spaces, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow by verifying identification when required, controlling entry and exit, and directing individuals to appropriate check-in or service areas.
  • Complete required shift documentation such as activity logs, incident reports, and patrol observations, and communicate relevant updates during post handoff.
