Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role blends customer service, communication, and routine patrols with a team focused on being agile, reliable, innovative, and always acting with integrity.
Requirements
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities across the campus environment.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with campus contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points, observe campus activity, and assist with directions, escorts, and general support during classes, events, and/or after-hours operations.
- Support a respectful learning environment by following post orders, reporting maintenance or lighting concerns, and communicating professionally with the campus community regarding security-related matters.
