As a Security Officer Patrol Technician in East Saint Louis, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors and staff with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify access permissions when required, and report access concerns, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
  • Support daily operations by maintaining a visible presence, providing directions and assistance, and following post orders and escalation procedures for security-related concerns.
