About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Specialist Full Time in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a renowned cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to visitors and staff. In this dynamic location, you will support daily operations with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity while helping create a welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, staff areas, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and/or restricted areas to help support authorized access, visitor flow, and adherence to location policies and procedures.
  • Assist with incident reporting, directional assistance, and general support during special events, high visitor volume periods, and/or other site activities common to a public-facing cultural location.
