About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Specialist Full Time in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a renowned cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to visitors and staff. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, staff areas, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and/or restricted areas to help support authorized access, visitor flow, and adherence to location policies and procedures.
• Assist with incident reporting, directional assistance, and general support during special events, high visitor volume periods, and/or other site activities common to a public-facing cultural location.
