As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol residential and shelter locations, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and support access control while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential and shelter areas, including interior common spaces, exterior grounds, entrances, stairwells, and perimeter checks, as assigned by post orders.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying identification and/or authorization, directing visitors, and coordinating with site staff for approvals when required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, reporting concerns to site leadership, and contacting emergency services when needed.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in written reports and logs, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and/or site representatives.
