About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in San Luis Obispo, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a busy healthcare location. You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, assist staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication, and document observations and reports. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 or more years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assistance with de-escalation and/or coordinating with clinical staff and local responders as needed.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems when assigned, and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns through the proper channels.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoff information in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
