About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol in Columbus, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access and visitor activity, report concerns clearly, and deliver helpful customer service with a people-first mindset. With Allied Universal, you will work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout production areas, warehouses, parking lots, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points by verifying identification and/or credentials, logging visitors and contractors, and directing deliveries to designated areas according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting on-site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Complete written reports and logs, document security-related incidents and observations, and communicate shift activity to the next officer and/or site contacts.
