Job Description As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading healthcare research location where you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and support badge and access control processes while providing a welcoming customer service experience. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will use clear communication and technology to document activity, collaborate with site teams, and take integrity-driven actions that help reduce security-related concerns.

Requirements

  • At least two years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, patients and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to buildings, research areas and/or receiving areas by checking identification, validating authorization and managing visitor sign-in and badge issuance per site policy.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, documenting actions taken and assisting first responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking areas and perimeter points, to help to identify unusual conditions, unsecured doors and/or policy violations.
  • Complete required reports such as activity logs, incident reports and/or access control records using site systems, maintaining clear, factual documentation and timely communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
