About The Position

As a Security Officer - Defense Patrol Driver in Rockford, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an aerospace and defense location, you will complete routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, access concerns, and customer requests with clear communication. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A guard card/license is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or public responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns.
Monitor access points and controlled areas, verifying credentials, supporting visitor processing, and directing individuals according to site procedures.
Perform vehicle and/or package observations as directed by post orders, documenting findings and escalating concerns per site procedures.
Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems when assigned, investigating activations and reporting results.
Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs with clear, accurate details, using required systems and/or forms.
Support protection of sensitive areas by following restricted access procedures and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
Communicate with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related issues, work orders, and follow-up actions.
Participate in drills, briefings, and required training, applying post orders and instructions during routine operations and emergency situations.
Provide presence throughout the location to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
