About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver (DoD Clearance Required) in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading aero and defense location as an unarmed patrol officer, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce incidents, and deliver professional customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will support a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, acting with integrity and working together to meet mission-focused expectations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1+ years of security-related experience is required.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
  • Conduct access control and identity verification at designated entrances, checking credentials, badges, and visitor authorizations while documenting entries and exits per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, work areas, and perimeter routes, watching for unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or policy violations that may help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to site leadership, and follow post orders for shift turnovers and special instructions.
