As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will conduct routine patrols and drive designated routes to help identify and report security-related concerns, support access control, and assist guests and tenants with a professional, service-first approach. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. At Allied Universal, you will work as part of a team that acts with integrity and delivers through teamwork.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and/or mall location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and perimeter routes, noting and reporting unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, property damage, and/or lost and found situations; request assistance from law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor access points and public areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, assist with crowd control during peak traffic and/or special events, and support tenant requests consistent with site directives.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate observations and follow-up needs to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
