About The Position

As a Security Officer - Data Center Rover in South Bend, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access points, monitor activity, respond to calls for assistance, and document observations clearly. You will also provide strong customer service and communication while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a telecom and technology location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Monitor access points, doors, gates, and loading or service areas, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations through presence, observation, and clear communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, power or network disruptions, and disorderly conduct, and coordinate with on-site personnel and public responders as directed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities using written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate status updates and follow-up actions to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
