About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol and Loss Prevention in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will complete routine foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help identify and report security-related incidents. You will support loss prevention efforts, assist team members and shoppers with a customer-first approach, and communicate clearly with site leadership. Requirements

• Have a minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests and team members at a retail location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, receiving areas, stockrooms and the parking area to help to deter theft, vandalism and/or other unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points and observe customer traffic for suspicious or unusual behavior, offering assistance as needed and documenting observations according to post orders.
• Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations and daily activities, and communicate key information during shift turnovers to support consistent site operations.
