About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Access Control in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access to the location by observing arrivals and departures, verifying authorized entry when required, and addressing policy violations in a professional manner.
  • Support a respectful environment within the shelter setting by assisting with de-escalation, communicating clearly with individuals on site, and coordinating with staff and/or first responders when needed.
