About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Access Control in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support residents and guests with exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential location, including common areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter spaces, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access to the property by observing arrivals and departures, verifying visitor information when required, and reporting unusual activity or maintenance-related concerns.
  • Support property rules and community expectations by addressing routine issues with professionalism, providing directions or assistance, and communicating with residents, guests, and/or management as needed.
