As an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, communicate clearly with staff and the public, and document noteworthy activity. Requirements

  • Must have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or residents by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common areas, entrances, stairwells, and perimeter points, to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow by observing entry and exit activity, verifying authorization when required, and directing individuals to appropriate locations per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including conflicts, medical situations, and/or disorderly conduct, and request support from supervisors and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Complete timely written and/or electronic reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
