As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a high-traffic government waterfront transportation location, you will monitor and patrol terminals, docks, and public areas, staying visible to help reduce security-related concerns. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, assist with access control and customer questions, and communicate clearly with site teams and leadership. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of ferry terminal areas, including entrances, waiting areas, docks, and perimeter zones, documenting unusual activity and conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with queue management, crowd movement, and directing individuals to appropriate resources.
  • Control access to restricted or operational areas by checking identification and/or authorizations as required and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and inspections, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or public agency personnel as needed.
