As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents, and assist shoppers and staff with clear, respectful communication. You will complete routine rounds, document observations, and report concerns promptly. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, associates, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to discourage unwanted activity and identify potential hazards or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing disturbances, handling trespass issues, and coordinating with site leadership as needed.
  • Monitor customer and employee traffic, observe for suspicious behavior, and report concerns according to post orders, including completing incident reports and shift logs.
  • Support loss prevention and store operations by maintaining a visible presence, providing directions and customer assistance, and communicating information to Allied Universal supervision and/or site contacts.
