As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with friendly customer service. You will document observations and communicate clearly using a computer or tablet while responding to calls for assistance. Bring reliability, agility, innovation, integrity, and teamwork to every shift.

Requirements

• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Having customer service experience is preferred.
• Having CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to campus students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access issues, disturbances, medical calls, and/or fire and alarm activations.
• Monitor and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations, and document observations through detailed reports and timely notifications to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Control access at designated points as assigned, verify credentials when required, and assist with directing foot and vehicle traffic during peak periods, events, and/or special activities.
