As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government historic location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will support visitors and staff with clear communication, professional reporting, and customer service. Requirements

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed foot patrols throughout museum, archive, and/or administrative areas, including exterior grounds and parking areas, documenting observations and reporting maintenance or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and public spaces, help to deter unauthorized entry, and respond to alarms, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations by assessing conditions, communicating with site representatives and/or public responders as needed, and completing accurate incident reports.
  • Assist with protection of historical collections and exhibits by maintaining post orders near restricted areas, observing environmental and/or handling issues, and reporting concerns to site leadership.
