As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with clear communication and outstanding customer service. You will report concerns, assist with access control and incident response, and work as part of a team that acts with integrity while staying agile, reliable, innovative, and people first.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, residence areas, and perimeter spaces, documenting observations and reporting maintenance hazards and/or unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control issues, disturbances, and calls for service, and escalating to campus partners and/or public responders as needed.
  • Monitor entrances, common areas, and special events as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs, and communicate key information during shift turnovers using site-approved systems and procedures.
