As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in various industries, including Retail/Malls. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles through the Claim a Shift platform. You will work as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, conducting routine patrols, maintaining visibility to help deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. A valid driver's license is required for this driving post, in accordance with Allied Universal Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles;
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with store personnel, visitors, and/or local responders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor for suspicious behavior, access concerns, and/or operational issues, then document observations and report security-related incidents according to Allied Universal procedures.
  • Support loss prevention awareness by observing customer and employee activity, assisting with de-escalation when needed, and/or helping to maintain order during busy store hours and special events.
