This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will tour grounds, watch for unusual activity, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and policy questions, and/or report concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying required contacts and/or requesting medical or law enforcement assistance when needed.
- Complete timely reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activity, and communicate relevant security-related information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
