As an Access Control Security Officer at a busy retail distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify badges and visitor credentials, and support a welcoming experience through clear communication and customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Manage access control at a retail distribution location by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges, maintaining visitor and vendor logs, and controlling entry and exit at doors and/or vehicle gates.
  • Screen and direct deliveries and outbound shipments by coordinating with site contacts, confirming appointments and documentation, and monitoring trailer and yard activity as assigned.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, disturbances, and policy violations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building entrances, dock doors, parking areas, and perimeter points, while documenting observations and reporting issues that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
