As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents while supporting shoppers and associates with courteous service and clear communication. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and partner with site teams to resolve issues. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, and store associates by following Allied Universal protocols, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor, entrances, loading areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations; document incidents accurately and communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including verbal de-escalation, coordinating with onsite personnel, and contacting law enforcement and/or emergency services when required.
  • Support loss prevention and access control efforts by observing for theft-related behavior, controlling entry points as assigned, and assisting with crowd management during peak shopping periods.
