As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will engage respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors while documenting observations and communicating concerns promptly. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
  • Have alarm panel experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, common spaces, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, check identification as required by post orders, and document visitor entry and exit according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting on-site staff and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete timely reports of incidents, patrol activity, and unusual conditions, and communicate observations to supervisors and site leadership.
