As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, greet team members and visitors, verify credentials, document activity, and conduct routine patrols of assigned areas. You will remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, support screening and shipping operations, and deliver clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray Screening Experience is preferred.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to client employees, visitors, and delivery drivers by following site-specific, security-related procedures and post orders at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, processing visitor and contractor check-in and/or check-out, issuing badges where applicable, and maintaining access logs.
  • Support truck and trailer movement procedures by confirming appointments and/or documentation, directing drivers to designated staging areas, and coordinating with site contacts as needed.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services when required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, docks, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
